World Wide Wine Shortage

World Wide Wine Shortage!
Buy NOW before it's all gone!!
Fall Wine Tips
At the end of October, Morgan Stanley issued a report predicting a worldwide wine shortage. According to the report,"declining wine production along with a rebound in demand has created a global under-supply of wine of about 300 million cases".

Coincidentally, last week, the world's most-followed wine critic, Robert Parker issued his annual wine scores in his publication, the Wine Advocate. Not surprisingly, your wine concierges at Bacchus & Venus had already selected many of these high-scoring wines. At the bottom of this email, you will find a list of all of the wines we have that received Parker scores along with their pricing.

In an effort to be sure you are prepared and your cellars are adequately stocked, the extremely concerned staff at Bacchus & Venus has highlighted a few gems below. Orders of 6 bottles or more qualify for a 10% discount off our already low prices.  Stock up now before the world runs out of wine and you are stuck drinking water.

Cheers!
2010 Barrel 27 'Hand Over Fist' $34
The 2010 Hand Over Fist is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre that comes from west side Paso Robles vineyards. Aged 20 months in French oak puncheons, it offers up a solid array of licorice, black fruits, earth and hints of leather to go with a medium to full-bodied, supple and beautifully balanced palate that carries juicy acidity and fine tannin. Another winner, it's a rock- solid bottle of wine that will continue to drink nicely through 2018. Drink now-2018.

2011 Hudson Chardonnay $60
The 2011 Chardonnay reveals a Batard-Montrachet-like richness and hazelnut creaminess. Made from an Old Wente clone and aged in 80% new oak (which it hides very well), this wine has good acidity and a surprising, rich, intense mouthfeel with lots of caramelized tropical and honeyed fruit. This full-bodied wine is fresh, which is typical of this vintage, especially for many of the white wines. It appears to have 4-5 years of drinkability.

2010 Ghost Block Estate Cabernet Sauvignon $75
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, which comes from a single vineyard in Yountville, displays a more complex bouquet of subtle smoke, black currant jam, raspberries and blueberries. The palate impression is one of juicy, full-bodied opulence. Seductive, round, impressively endowed and pure, with a terrific finish, this Cabernet Sauvignon should drink well for 10-15 years.

2010 Kelly Fleming Cabernet Sauvignon $105
Fleming's 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts gorgeous depth and precision from start to finish. Hints of licorice, sweet spices and menthol are layered into an expressive core of dark fruit in this beautiful, complete Cabernet Sauvignon. A rich, textured finish rounds things out in style. This is a fabulous showing from Kelly Fleming. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2030.
